Business Leader Aziz Ahmad receives prestigious WGES NOVA Award

Aziz Ahmad wins WGES Nova Award 2022
Bangladeshi-American business leader and Information Technology company CEO, Aziz Ahmad, was awarded the prestigious 2022 World Green Energy Symposium NOVA Award. He received the award at the annual WGES Summit on Wednesday April 13th for his contributions to business and, specifically, for his tireless efforts to bring skill-based training to the less-fortunate in society.
Mr. Aziz Ahmad, CEO and Founder of IT consultancy firm UTC Associates and skills training institute, CodersTrust, was one of the three recipients of the 2022 WGES NOVA Award.
WGES stated that “Aziz Ahmad has shown exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to solving societal inequities through sustainable and educational solutions”.
Mr. Ahmad also addressed the symposium with a presentation on the topic of 'Maximizing Cybersecurity for a Sustainable Digital Future'.
The WGES brought together top experts in sustainability including investors, innovators, government agencies. Key areas of focus for the conference were Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Practices that can minimize the impact of our carbon footprint.
Addressing the conference, Mr. Ahmad said that this award meant a lot to him. He recalled the young male and female faces who came from under-privileged, underserved, marginalized communities who had the opportunity to learn career-building skills from CodersTrust and now are making a living in the global employment market.
"I accept this award on behalf of all my colleagues at CodersTrust and UTC Associates who have made this possible. Thank you so much for recognizing the work that we have been doing during the past decade to improve the lives of the less-fortunate in our society. The youth, especially the female community, who struggle to find a comfortable living, is our prime concern, as we expand our sustainable, technology-based training platform," Mr. Ahmad added.
"WGES is proud add Mr. Ahmad to the roster of past recipients of the NOVA Award. He is an influencer and a game changer," stated Professor George Robert, Executive Chairman of the WGES Council.
Other past WGES NOVA Award recipients include; the City of Philadelphia for its Greenworks sustainable program accepted by Mayor Nutter, the Country of Brazil presented for its Sustainable Program in Rio de Janeiro, Tishman, DOW, Johnson Controls for corporate leadership, innovative products & technologies, Drexel University for its Smart House Program accepted by the Dean and Students involved in the program, the District of Columbia for its Sustainable DC plan accepted by Mayor Vincent Gray, the University of the District of Columbia CAUSES for its Urban Food Hubs accepted by Dean Sabine O'Hara, for its concept as a model for Urban Agriculture, these are among other notable recipients.
