Pandemic creates employment problem across world: Kholiquzzaman

Virtual Freshers Reception of Post graduated Enterprise development  and Seminar of Entrepreneurship in DScE organized by the Entrepreneurial economists club of Dhaka School of Economics held  on 10 July ,2021.

The programme was attended by the Dr.Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad ,Chairman Dhaka School of Economics and Chairman of Palli karma sahayak foundation.

In the programme speakers commented that the Post graduate enterprise development course is very much suitable to transform into entrepreneurial idea generation and implementation.As this is the 4th batch,so Dhaka School of Economics(DScE) trained students in a manner that they gather knowledge to apply in real field and act as an intermediary to contribute in the GDP.

As pandemic situation in  world wide is going on so local economy need to be strengthen and agro based industries must get priority which Bangladesh Govt. is trying .Online business must act complementary  especially in the wake of the  Eidul Azha need to be observed and fair pricing in the livestock market must be ensured so that both customer and seller  can maintain distances and can ensure win-win situation.

Speakers put emphasis on economic incubator as a necessity to support practical exposure in the time of 4th industrial revolution. Industry -alliances education with innovation is important nowadays.

As chief Guest Dr.Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad said that worldwide pandemic and technological advancement created employment problem. Growth without equity should be harmful for which alternative measures need to be created to check the rising of the poverty level. He argued that in terms of percentage of GDP more investment is being planned to develop SME sector of the country. He argued that each year DScE wants to create at least 100 entrepreneurs directly or Indirectly.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali as a session chair of the programme said that under turbulent situaions creativity and foster bonding with students like parenting to arrange learning importance of life skills so that employability skill can be arranged. 

In the seminar Prof. Dr. Subrata Chattopadhyay of University of Engineering and Management   presented a webinar paper on "Exploring opportunities in turbulent times"  where he argued that opportunity canvas in transforming ,hence adaptation to new technology and business is essential. One has to unlearn-relearn and be skil to sustain in a collaborative environment as commented by him.

Mrs.Rehana Parvin, Assistant Professor gave introductory remarks and Mrs. Sara Tasneem ,Assistant professor was designated discussants in the programme.

Mrs. Afia Akter ,Assistant Secretary of the club said  on behalf of the  students praising the teaching-learning process of entrepreneurial economics programme was excellent while Mr. Mohammad Aman ullah Aman, Vice president of the club and alumni  gave a vote of thanks.

 Among others Dr.Nadia Binte Amin,President of WEND was also present.
